Testimonials

It’s always wonderful to have my work acknowledged by other industry professionals. This is what Snowsport England posted on 14 December 2025:

✨ 12 “Thank Yous” of Christmas – Day 2 ✨ Today we’re celebrating Dr Carol Porter 💙❄️ A truly exceptional mentor in the SheLeads programme, Carol goes above and beyond to uplift and empower women in snowsport. She works tirelessly to break down fear as a barrier to participation, helping to build a more confident, inclusive community for all. Through her steady guidance and unwavering support, she’s helped her mentee grow into a newly qualified instructor, even when the journey wasn’t easy. Thank you, Carol, for leading with heart and inspiring others to do the same. 🌟 #12ThankYousOfChristmas#SheLeads#WomenInSnowsport#InclusionInSport

Don’t just take my word for it. This is what my clients say:

“This week, most of my coaching was from Carol. She was very organised and gave detailed explanations of what we should be aiming for, then assessed our base skills and gave us guidance on how to improve. For me, this was an effective way of showing me which areas to work on and I felt my skiing improved significantly over the week. Many thanks.” – Anne

“The fact that the coaching was totally in English means that the nuances of the language are not lost and understanding is easily translated into practice instead of trying to interpret what was being said- TOTALLY INVALUABLE!
The use of the jointly marked skill form was so useful and am taking it with me on my trip six days after the return from Italy to really work in my lower scoring abilities. Each coach brought different skill sets and ideas to try and I found each of them on my shoulder with their little sayings that I could concentrate on (be an Albatross not a T.Rex or “dip those hips” “bicycle turns” “back angle” (that one was SO helpful for me).
The patience of both coaches was astonishing – if something didn’t work they tried a different approach without any problem – no eye rolling or huffing (as I’ve experienced in the past), just clear step by step instructions. Loved every minute.” – Trish

“Carol’s coaching of my daughter P (21) was excellent. She went from zero to skiing in 6 days. Full of confidence and can’t wait to return to the slopes!” – Marianne

“Beginning with profiling, Carol enabling me how to ‘see’ and become self-aware. She developed a personal program with progression to core-form skiing. With a logical progression, sessions were relevant and measured transitioning from an upright (no back angle) and rigid posture to more effective and efficient skiing – most notably improving back angle, leg lean and leg rotation. Carol was happy to challenge and be challenged. Providing great support, understanding my learning style with sessions tailored to my development needs. My skiing has improved, and I look forward to continuing this progression.” – Jon

“I would recommend Carol Porter to anyone, at any level of skiing ability. I have skied for at least 25 years and am pretty confident on the slope. However,  doing a course with Carol was a revelation! She watches your movements carefully before giving an instruction. She is calm and gives you the confidence to give things ago, even if out of your comfort zone. If you don’t quite understand, then Carol is good at explaining in a different way or will ski with you until you get it. Lessons were never tedious or boring and I felt inspired. My skiing has improved in such a way that I can ski longer and with fewer aches and pains.” – Jeanette

“I would sum up Carol’s coaching ability under five headings:-

  • Clarity of explanation: Short, clear instructions and focus, checking for understanding
  • Confidence: Assurance that the skill to be practised is within my capabilities
  • Reflection: Discussion after practice of a  skill, both positives and negatives, leaving me optimistic that I can achieve this.
  • Positivity: You CAN master this, dispelling negative thoughts and attitude.
  • Patience: No matter how the session is going!” – Josephine
